BAH SHMAH!!!!!!

I just got a speeding ticket. Stinking Jacksonville with all its construction. Apparently a 6 lane divided highway is a good place for a 35 mph speed limit.

Among the things I would like to spend 270 dollars on, a traffic citation is not near the top of the list.

Frustrating.

I wasn't around when they made this, but it is better than anything else on the web at the moment.

Apparently this is a startup north florida guide

That is using us as one of their first promotionals.

Kind of cool.

Lauren tells me my blog is boring and that I need to blog more about life. Fortunately, yesterday provided an excellent opportunity for just such ramblings.

Yesterday started fairly normally. At about 11:30, I was looking on Craigslists for a used bike. I spotted a TANDEM bike for real cheap and got very excited. I shot off an email, heard back, Lauren and I got ready to go fast and we took off. Unfortunately, the bike was on a first come basis, and it sold before we got there. Very sad. A tandem bike would have been fun. On top of that, we had already driven most of the way across town to try to get it, now for nothing.

But, we didn't want the trip to be a waste, so we headed to the beach, since we were on that side of town. Beach was going ok, Lauren was trying to teach me how to swim, and I noticed some movement out in the water. Pretty soon the movement was identifiable as dolphins, probably 6-10 of them, playing in the water. They were a ways off, but you could definitely see them, and they got really excited for a short while and a few jumped full body out of the water. It was pretty cool.

On the way home we stopped by black creek outfitters, local equivalent to REI/Lewis and Clark. They have paddleboards at B.C. and a friend from ultimate who works there suggested we should try them out. So we stopped and tried out paddleboards. Surprisingly, I can stand up on a paddleboard without feeling like I am near death. They were pretty fun and, if I had a bunch of money laying around with nothing to do, I might buy one. But, I don't, so I probably won't.

When we made it home we decided to go to the mailbox. Normally this is an enjoyable little walk, but nothint too spectacular. However, today we happened to spot a lizard on the way and stopped to say hello. Not just any lizard...most lizards you can't really interact with too much b/c they are very fast and are gone before you get out a proper greeting. This guy was fast too, but also itty bitty teeny tiny, so his fast didn't get him as far. We played with him a bit, then walked on to the mailbox, dissappointed that we didn't have a camera to capture the little fellow. We got our mail (nothing exciting) and were on the way back when we spotted him again. In a flash of brilliance, Lauren realized that one of us could...GO AND GET A CAMERA!! (We are pretty bright sometimes). I did so and the pictures below (if I figure out how to post them properly) are the result. He is a very little lizard.

Yup. That was yesterday.
