For Beth

To alleviate sadness number 1, I hereby post again.

When I lived in Boulder, there was a gold Subaru Brat that lived across the street from Luaren's house. Our family, via Beth, has a special connection to Brats, so I noticed it immediately. At some point sometime, the older fellow who lived there was out in the street at the same time I was and I asked him about the car. He let me drive it around the block, which was pretty cool.

My First Post

Ben caved first, and it has been awhile, so I don't feel bad starting a blog.

Several events have happened recently that I thought someone out there might want to know about, but didn't want to call/write everyone to tell them all about it. I thought about it a bit and realized that is what blogs are for, so here I go.

Events that caused me to start a blog.

1. I saw the shuttle launch. Turns out 150 miles isn't too far away when to see things when two massive solid state boosters go off. It was really cool, like a slow moving shooting start going the wrong direction.

2. Lauren and I ate salads that were mostly composed of mizuna and arugula that we grew in our tiny garden in our backyard. Kind of cool to go out, clip off some leaves, and eat them for dinner.

3. I made a cool display thing for work. It is like those science fair displays you used in middle school, except it is made of 2x4s, door hinges, lattice, leftover climbing wall and barrier netting. It looks pretty cool, weighs quite a bit, and hopefully will get more customers to come to Jungle Quest.

4. I went to yoga classes. It is tough, because I have "the flexibility of a dead tree" (that is what Shad Miller told me when he was coaching me in hurdles). But, I usually feel better after and it helps my back, so I am going to try to keep going.

I think that was a pretty good first post for a blog. It may be the last, we'll see, but now I officially have a blog. Welcome to the new world.
